Bacon and Cheese Biscuits

These can be eaten as a snack, or even be served with your healthy Bone Broth

It is also an ideal item to pack in a Lunch Box with Cream Cheese Cubes, Tomato wedges, Celery & Carrot sticks

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups Almond Flour
  • ½ tsp Baking Soda
  • ¼ tsp pink Himalaya Salt (freshly ground)
  • Freshly ground Black Pepper
  • 1 large Egg
  • 5 tbsps melted Butter (real butter – NOT margarine or spreads)
  • 1/3 cup Sour Cream*
  • 1 cup chopped crispy fried Bacon
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Add ½ tsp of Oregano for that Italian twist

* You can make sour cream by adding a few drops of lemon juice to normal cream and let it stand for a few hours.

EQUIPMENT

  • Baking Sheet (use baking paper/ Teflon sheet)
  • Flat Baking Pan

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 350°F or 180°C
  • Line the baking tray with the baking sheet
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix Almond Flour, Baking Soda (Bicarbonate of Soda), Salt, and a few cranks of Black Pepper and Oregano (if used) together.
  • Add Egg, melted Butter, and Sour Cream.
  • Mix until just combined.
  • Scoop small scoops (1 soup spoon size) onto baking paper/sheet in pan, 10 cm apart.
  • Alternatively, it can be made in muffin pans, with paper cups.
  • Bake until golden brown, for approximately 20 minutes.
  • Let cool for around 10 minutes – still on the baking sheet.
  • Serve and enjoy – Yum, Yum!
